Returning to U.S. soil from military service, many veterans seek a meaningful civilian life – one where they can continue to serve society while also healing their own wounds — seen and unseen.
Farmer Veteran Coalition mobilizes this passion.
About Farmer Veteran Coalition
Guided by the belief that veterans possess the unique skills and character needed to strengthen rural communities and create sustainable food systems, Farmer Veteran Coalition opens the door to a life in agriculture, which offers purpose, opportunity, and physical and psychological benefits.
Farmer Veteran Coalition goes way deeper than just providing employment for veterans interested in a career in farming. Through their “Homegrown by Heroes” food label, farmer-veterans are able to differentiate their products in the marketplace. Through their grant programs, Farmer Veteran Coalition ensures the farms run by the military men and women will continue to thrive. They also provide mentorships, educational workshops, business planning, legal consultations, and many more services for the farmer-veterans, who then get to focus on peace.
