For kids with Autism, everyday tasks can feel like a challenge. Through games and laughter, Building Connections’ improv classes give them the tools they need to interact and connect with the world around them.
More importantly, it provides a fun environment that does not feel clinical — and leads to confidence and new friendships.
For the kids in Building Connections, improv provides an opportunity for personal growth in a safe environment. Parents report that their children have gained a wide variety of benefits from taking classes, including expressive language gains, increased confidence, improved social skills, a decrease in negative behaviors, and an increase in self-expression. While improv has significant therapeutic applications, most importantly, these classes provide youth with an opportunity to excel, have fun, and express themselves. A very low teacher/child ratio (less than two students per teacher) ensure that each student gets the attention they need.
